Cold email founders and hiring teams

Who Marshal suggests you write to, how the emails are written, and sending them from your own Gmail.

Who you can write to. The Cold email page lists founders, hiring managers and hiring teams who fit your profile, whether or not they have a job posted anywhere:

  • People who asked to be emailed: founders and hiring managers who wrote their email address into a hiring post on Hacker News in the last 18 months.
  • Hiring inboxes: the careers@, jobs@ or hr@ addresses (and founders' addresses) companies publish on their own websites.

Nobody's address is bought, guessed or taken from behind a login, and no one is suggested to more than a few people a week, so your email doesn't arrive in a pile.

The emails. Tick the people you want and press Draft. Each email is written from your resume and what they posted (templates in your free week, the AI on Pro): short, specific, with one real result of yours. Edit anything.

Sending. Press Connect Gmail once. Then each draft has a Send from Gmail button: it goes from your own address with your resume attached, and Marshal sends nothing you haven't approved. Marshal asks Google only for permission to send; it can't read your mail. At most 25 a day, to keep your Gmail in good standing. Prefer not to connect? Open in Gmail opens each one ready to send, and you press I sent it after.

After. A week without a reply and the follow-up is written, in the same thread. When they answer, paste their reply and your answer is drafted.

Still stuck? Ask in the chat (bottom right). It knows your account, and hands you to a person when it should.
