Privacy policy

What Marshal keeps about you, why, who helps us run it, and how to delete everything.

Who we are

Marshal is run from India (“we”). For anything about your data, write to [email protected]. We answer within 7 days, and you can ask us to correct or delete anything.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, and your name if you add it. You sign in with codes we email you; there are no passwords.
  • Your resume: the file you upload (to attach it to applications you fill), its text, and the profile you confirm from it (roles, skills, experience, where you can work).
  • Your application details: the phone, links, notice period and salary details that application forms ask for, read from your resume and edited by you. They fill forms; they are never sent to an AI provider.
  • Your job search: the jobs we match to you, their scores, your application packs and interview prep, statuses and notes.
  • Job alerts you forward: we read the job listings in them and keep those listings for you. We don't keep the emails.
  • Support chats you have with our assistant or our team.
  • Payments: what you bought, when and the payment reference. Card, UPI and bank details go to Razorpay and never reach us.
  • Security data: the network address and browser of each sign-in, to stop abuse.

We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

The browser extension

Marshal Autofill works only on the pages you use it on: when you click it, or when you press “Fill with Marshal” on a Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby application. It never submits a form and never reads the rest of your browsing.

  • Filling a form: it reads the form's questions and the job page's text and sends them to your account, which writes the answers. It fills in your profile, contact details and resume from your account; your contact details go only into the form, never to an AI provider.
  • Saving a job or marking it applied: it sends that page's address, title and text to your account.
  • In your browser it keeps your autofill key, your Marshal address and a copy of your resume file, so it isn't downloaded for every form. Removing the extension removes them.

The extension has no analytics or tracking, and what it reads is used only to help you apply.

Why we use it

To find and score jobs for you, write the applications you ask for, send the emails you chose (digests, alerts, receipts), answer your questions, take payments and keep the service safe. We don't sell your data or share it with employers or recruiters.

Who helps us run it

  • AI providers (Groq, Google): your profile and resume text (without contact details) and job ads are sent to them to score jobs and write packs, on paid plans whose terms don't allow them to train on it.
  • Razorpay takes payments.
  • Our email provider sends your emails, and our hosting provider runs the servers.

Some of them process data outside India, under their own security and privacy commitments.

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. Delete it (Settings → Delete my account) and everything goes at once. Payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires, without your email address. Security logs are kept for up to 120 days.

Your rights

You can see, correct and delete your data in the app, or ask us to. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account. If you're unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or your local regulator.

Children

Marshal is for people aged 18 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
